Butler Byers Insurance Ltd. was founded in 1907 by Ivan and Newt Byers and Jim Butler. In the early 1950's Jack, Son of Ivan, took over the firm. In 1977, Drew, son of Jack, took over a majority interest in the firm with partners John Shanks and Barry Slowski. In 1999, Scott, son of Drew, also joined the firm and represents the fourth generation to work in the business.
The company started business investing in real estate and selling insurance. Since the 1930's the company focus has been primarily insurance and related products. Today, Butler Byers Insurance offers a full line of personal and commercial products and financial services.
