The company was started by brothers Ivan and Newt Byers and their associate, Jim Butler in 1907. The company has been serving prairie farmers ever since and continues to be owned and operated by the Byers family.

The need for a hail insurance program was identified early in the 1900's and Butler Byers Hail helped pioneer some of the first insurance programs available to fill this need. Today, Butler Byers Hail is a leader in making sure our industry can respond to the changing economic landscape.
