Home Flood Protection

To avoid water seepage in your home, remove snow from around your home's foundation and move it to where it will melt and drain away from the foundation.

Your downspouts should be extended so they discharge rain or melt water at least two meters away from the foundation. Downspouts should not be connected to the sanitary sewer system inside your home.

To protect against sewer backup, consider installing a mainline sewer backwater valve if you don't have one.
